SMU students’ flush with Campaign ideas.

SMU forms Royal Flush Team

A group of undergraduates from Singapore Management University (SMU) pet project called Royal Flush has won broad support from the Government and the public. In their Leadership and Teambuilding course ,they decided to look into the state of the public toilets. The team unusual campaign idea has garnered massive support and relief from the long suffering public that has to tolerate dirty loos.

Name Toilet Cleanlines Week

Called the Toilet Cleanliness Week campaign, it involve volunteers from outside and within the university. They were enlisted and put through basic training in toilet cleaning, 101. And as Miss Lena Chang Yoke Yee, Project Royal Flush Organising Committee, said: "While we were brainstorming in class, we decided to come up with ideas that had not been implemented. Public toilets are very filthy at times, so we decided... as students, to clean it ourselves."

Fine Campaign

Normally the Fine campaigns will deters the litterbugs and rubbish on the public road. The finer scrutiny to the toilets is an extension that will bring reliefs to all toilet users and tourist alike and bring relief to the long suffering cleaners.

They are simply flushed with excitement over their job descriptions, they are suddenly promoted to The Royal Flush Supervisors. Hopefully the new job description will bring in monetary benefits. It helps in the current recession, for the visitors to the Royal Flush Palace,as the place is renamed seems to be a must see place, especially after a good intake of buffets in one hour or bust.

Abusers be deodorised and future visits forbidden

All who defers the regulations on clean toilets shall be sprayed with deodorants and retrained in potty training and cleanliness , as obviously they have lost their touch they were aged one. They shall be advised to leave nothing behind, but pure clean porcelain, and sparkling clean floor, much like the airplane arrival announcement, when they landed into Singapore. In this case ,whatever one,s leave behind shall not hinder the next user, thank you. The RFS shall wish all who used the facilities to revisits again, as and when opportune , when nature calls.

NEA,PUB, RAS gave endorsements

As a mark of the approval from the authorities, the National Environment Agency (NEA), PUB and the Restroom Association of Singapore are gave their ringing endorsements.

Tan Zhi Teng, project executive, Restroom Association, commented : "It’s going to be a campaign for about five to ten years. Perhaps the Restroom Association will start small in other schools... and from there, we will actually expand and hopefully we can reach out to the masses."

Provided the students can be enticed to listen to the message beyond the headsets and the MP3.

Wind Chimes and Bird Song,LCD TV

They should take a leaf from the Korean counterpart. The Rest room are redecorated and wind chimes affix to drown out the sound. Some private clubs install LCD tv showing running commentaries, with the run. No doubts ,improvements will be dramatics in the future. What is next is best left to conjecture.

With the Tourism boom , the Royal Flush Campaigns will leave a nice feelings and pleasant experience for the foreign tourists. They have previously commented on the dirty toilets in other countries , that leaves more than a bad vides when nature calls.

Hopefully, the campaign will let to a new high in attracting tourists to the country , besides the Eye which stopped last month for an hour, and the Merlion which got struck by lightning, probably being naughty when young.
