SMS OVERPRICED,TELCO TAKING ADVANTAGE

It has been reported that the operators of the telcom in the USA have come under the eyes of the member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. They have inform the country four carriers to justify the rising rates of the cost of sms.
Wisconsin Democrat Herb Kohl chair of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy and Consumer Rights, said Tuesday that he is "concerned" that the price hikes shows decrease in fair competitions.The cost cost of a text message was 10 cents way back when it started and currently, the price has increased 100 percent, to 20 cents.
He noted that the actual physical cost of providing sms telco cost very little, and yet the price was increase by four major telcos in tandem. It is hardly consistent with the open market , he said. The big four telco will be required to provide an explanation by October 6, 2008.
Coming back to Singapore, will the authorities ask the three telcos to justify the hig price of the cost of sms ?
After all,the voice phone precedes the word,(sms).Meaning the the cost of sms is simply overpriced overhere and not much overhead needed.
Sms user please do not sms this fact around.It is too costly for you to do so,plus the cost of overused thumb and safety reasons, in that you might walk into a tree or worse a person.
